It is with pleasure 3RPC Inc., Board and Members present our “3RPC Cookbook” in celebration of 3RPC’s 25th anniversary of being on air for the Portland Community since 17th December 1982.

Numerous and varied recipes have been contributed by both presenters and listeners and sincere appreciation is expressed to all who shared their special delicious, practical and interesting recipes.

Ingredients1 cup self-raising flour
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup water
1 tablespoon golden syrup
½ cup sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
Rub butter into flour, mix to a stiff dough with a little milk. Form into balls.
Bring water, sugar, syrup and juice to the boil
Drop dumplings into boiling syrup cook for 20 minutes


Handy Hints
To use up leftover porridge, add a cup to boiled fruit cake mixture, makes a moist, delicious cake.

May be added to stews – acts as a thickener and will make the stew go further
